Dongfeng D3L three-axle flatbed transport vehicle Engine: Yuchai 220HP / 245HP Transmission: Fast 10-speedRear axle: 13-ton Tires: 10.00R20 steel wire tiresWheelbase: 1850+3600 mm Frame: 280mm double-layer Overall dimensions: 9750×2550×3250 mm (short wheelbase) Other configurations: • D3L flat-top cab • Airbag seat • Original factory air conditioning • LCD display • Central control key • MP5 player • Multi-function steering wheel When transporting goods with a flatbed truck, multiple aspects need to be paid attention to ensure safe and efficient transportation. The following details the matters from the links of before driving, during driving, loading and unloading, etc.: I. Preparations Before Driving 1. Vehicle Inspection .Brake System: Check the brake fluid level, wear condition of brake pads, and test the brake sensitivity to ensure good braking performance. Tires: Check whether the tire pressure meets the standard (usually refer to the vehicle manual), whether there are cracks or foreign objects on the tire surface, and whether the tread depth is sufficient (generally not less than 1.6 mm). Lighting System: Check whether the headlights, turn signals, brake lights, position lights, etc., work normally to avoid affecting driving safety due to light failures. Hydraulic System: If the flatbed has a hydraulic lifting structure, check the hydraulic oil level and whether the oil pipe leaks to ensure smooth lifting function. Chassis and Suspension: Check whether the chassis screws are loose and whether the suspension system is intact to avoid abnormal noises or failures during driving. 2. Cargo Planning Weight and Dimensions: Confirm that the cargo weight is within the approved load range of the flatbed truck (such as the total mass and curb mass marked on the vehicle nameplate), and whether the cargo dimensions exceed the length and width limits of the flatbed (to avoid over-limit transportation). Fixing Scheme: Prepare appropriate fixing tools (such as steel wires, tensioners, straps, padding blocks, etc.) according to the shape and weight of the cargo to ensure that the cargo will not slide or tip over during transportation. 3. Documents and Procedures Carry necessary documents such as driving license, vehicle license, road transport certificate, etc. If transporting over-limit goods, handle the over-limit transportation permit in advance. II. Precautions During Driving 1. Vehicle Speed and Road Conditions Speed Control: Adjust the speed according to road conditions. The speed on ordinary roads should not exceed 60 km/h, and on highways, it should not exceed 80 km/h. When turning or going downhill, reduce the speed to 30-40 km/h to avoid sudden braking. Avoid Complex Road Conditions: Try to detour potholed, waterlogged, and icy sections. When passing bridges and tunnels, pay attention to weight and height limit signs (e.g., if a bridge has a weight limit of 50 tons, the total weight of the flatbed truck + cargo should be lower than this value). 2. Cargo Monitoring During driving, stop every 2-3 hours to check the fixing condition of the cargo, and see whether the straps are loose or the cargo is displaced, especially after driving through bumpy sections. 3. Driving Norms Maintain a safe following distance (at least more than 50 meters from the vehicle in front), avoid frequent lane changes, turn on the turn signal in advance when turning, observe the rearview mirror and reduce the speed, and get off the vehicle to check the surrounding situation if necessary. Overloading and offset loading are strictly prohibited (the offset of the cargo's center of gravity will affect the vehicle's stability). If the cargo is found to be tilted, stop immediately to adjust it. 4. Response to Special Weather Rainy Days: Turn on the fog lights, reduce the speed, avoid sudden braking, and prevent tire skidding; check whether the brake system is flooded after rain. Snowy Days: Install anti-skid chains, step on the accelerator and brake gently, and reduce lane changes; when encountering icy sections, lay sand to increase tire adhesion. High-temperature Weather: Pay attention to the tire temperature, avoid long-term high-speed driving, and stop in a timely manner to cool down; check whether the hydraulic system is overheated. III. Safety Specifications for Loading and Unloading 1. Site Requirements Choose a flat and solid ground for loading and unloading, and avoid operating on slopes or soft roads to prevent the vehicle from sliding or tilting. The loading and unloading area should be away from high-voltage lines and buildings to ensure sufficient space for the flatbed truck to park and the cargo to move. 2. Operation Procedures Hydraulic Flatbed Lifting: Before lifting or lowering the flatbed, confirm that there are no personnel standing around, and operate the hydraulic control lever slowly to avoid the cargo sliding due to sudden lifting or lowering of the flatbed; observe whether the flatbed is balanced during the lifting process, and stop the operation immediately if tilting occurs. Cargo Loading and Unloading: When using equipment such as forklifts and cranes, ensure that the equipment has sufficient load-bearing capacity and the lifting points are reasonably selected (such as the cargo's center of gravity position) to avoid the cargo shaking when lifted; when loading and unloading manually, wear safety equipment and use appropriate handling tools to prevent the cargo from injuring personnel. 3. Fixing and Unbinding After loading, firmly fix the cargo on the flatbed with straps or steel wires. The straps should go around the cargo's center of gravity and have moderate tightness (it is appropriate that there is no obvious displacement when pulling the straps with force); before unloading, untie the fixing devices in order to avoid the sudden collapse of the cargo. IV. Other Notes 1. Handling of Over-limit Transportation If transporting extra-long, extra-wide, or extra-high goods (such as large mechanical equipment), set up obvious warning signs (such as red flags, warning lights) at the end of the cargo, and arrange escort vehicles if necessary to ensure safe passage. 2. Emergency Handling Carry emergency tools such as fire extinguishers, triangular warning signs, spare tires, jacks, etc. If a failure or accident occurs on the way, immediately turn on the hazard warning lights, place a warning sign 150 meters behind the vehicle, and contact maintenance or rescue agencies in a timely manner. 3. Compliance Operation Comply with traffic regulations, do not drive fatigued (no more than 4 consecutive hours of driving, and need to rest for more than 20 minutes), do not drive after drinking, transport according to the specified route and time, and avoid fines or safety accidents due to illegal operations. Summary The core of safe operation of flatbed trucks lies in "careful inspection, standardized operation, and full-process monitoring". Every link, from the vehicle condition to cargo fixing and then to driving behavior, needs to be strictly controlled to reduce transportation risks and ensure the safety of goods and personnel. If transporting special goods (such as inflammable and explosive items), it is also necessaryadditionally comply with the relevant dangerous goods transportation regulations. |
